Okay, so I wanted to put up some pictures from Costa Rica, but my computer is doing strange things and won't read my memory stick. So I guess that will have to wait.
Anyway, It was grand. We spent a few days in Monteverde at Carlos's house, where we met his mom and brother and some of his friends, and did some jungle exploring and a lot of nature appreciating. Lots of gorgeous scenery there. It was rather drier than usual, so it wasn't quite so very green as one might expect, but nonetheless, it was decidedly exquisite.
Then we went by bus to Playa Hermosa, which was a rather long ride, but well worth it. Lovely beach, complete with sun, sand, and palm trees, and even a restaurant where you can get drinks with little umbrellas in them. I took advantage of the lower drinking age (18) and had a piƱa colada(!). It was okay. I think I prefer the non-alcoholic version though—no nasty aftertaste.
And then, after relaxing on the beach, we took the bus back to San Jose and flew home without much incident. A few small airline hassles, but no missed flights or lost baggage, so I'd say it was a success. And now my suitcase is sitting in the floor in the middle of my already horrendously cluttered room waiting to be unpacked, next to the dirty dishes left over from before break still waiting to be washed and a hundred other things waiting to be put away. I'll do it tomorrow.
In other news, I have discovered alt codes and how to use 'em. Yay! I know, I know, I fail at computers. Shut up.
